About The Position

Providing on-site development and support to the Ship's Signal Exploitation Equipment (SSEE) Family of Systems. Identifying, de-conflicting and orchestrating integration of competing software branches. Refactoring legacy Java/JavaScript code for efficiency enhancements. Building modular and highly re-usable code. Self-directing research, including decomposition of existing systems and design of new systems and configurations. Researching and implementing integrations between various new/existing systems to provide new functionality. Troubleshooting existing Java code. Researching and recommending new innovative system features as well as improvements for existing system functionality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM or related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Five or more years of professional experience in computer design, software development, or computer networks
  • Two or more years in a systems engineering or software engineering role
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as C, C++, and Java
  • Capable of researching, designing, developing, and testing both hardware and software systems
  • Working knowledge of VMware vCenter and/or other virtualization platforms
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Ansible, PowerShell, Bash, JavaScript, or equivalent
  • Security+ certification required, or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
  • Strong organizational and communication abilities
  • Proven ability to collaborate across functional teams and manage technical coordination effectively

  • U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TOP SECRET / SCI LEVEL

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with NIWC PAC or NIWC LANT initiatives
  • Familiarity with integration workflows and system engineering processes
  • Knowledge of the SSEE-Family of Systems and Mission Module Integration Systems
  • Proficiency with Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, Confluence, and related tool chains
  • Familiarity with DoD T&E processes, including test planning, execution, and data analysis
  • Understanding of software development regulations and data rights under the DoD acquisition framework
  • Hands-on experience across the entire SDLC, to include requirements, design, coding, testing,and deployment
  • Skilled in analyzing specifications, ensuring development of high-quality, portable, and reusable software components
