About The Position

As a Software Engineer III at Uber Freight, you will design, develop, and maintain highly scalable backend applications that improve Uber Freight’s Transportation Management Platform. You will help build product experiences that deliver value to customers on both the supply and demand sides of the market. You will partner with Product Managers, Designers, UXR, and Data Scientists to bring algorithmic solutions to users, using tools from Uber’s technology ecosystem and technology from its Compute, Platform, and Machine Learning teams.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
At least 3 years of software engineering experience.
Strong problem-solving and coding skills.
Experience with one or more of C#, Java, or Go.
Experience with microservice architecture and systems design.
Experience developing highly scalable backend microservices.

Nice To Haves

Master’s or Ph.D. degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Knowledge of data structures and algorithms and the ability to apply them when implementing solutions.
Experience shipping high-quality product features on schedule.
Experience handling complex problems at scale.
Experience with MySQL or Oracle.
Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Experience leading projects and mentoring junior engineers.
Knowledge of the logistics and freight industry.
Experience with React.
