About The Position

The Software Engineer III will participate in the discovery phase of small to medium-sized projects, developing high-level designs in collaboration with product management, project management, business, and user experience teams. This role involves troubleshooting business and production issues, performing root cause analysis, engaging support teams, developing solutions, and creating action plans. The engineer will manage small to large-sized complex projects, translating requirements into technical solutions, conducting unit testing, communicating status, and ensuring on-time delivery. Support will be provided to the business by responding to user questions and issues, identifying solutions, and guiding users. The role includes preparing requirement traceability matrices, contributing to user stories, and creating/configuring code that meets business and technical requirements, including non-functional requirements like maintainability, availability, and scalability. The engineer will assist in selecting appropriate development tools and languages, learn new coding languages and frameworks, build automation scripts for CI/CD and testing, implement telemetry features, and ensure security policy compliance. Testing responsibilities include mapping customer requirements to test objectives, creating and executing test cases, and performing various types of testing. Defect management involves tracking, analyzing, and performing regression testing. The role also includes troubleshooting performance and availability bottlenecks, conducting maintenance procedures, monitoring application performance, analyzing logs and data, and evaluating change requests. A DevOps orientation is expected, including maintenance and re-engineering activities.

Requirements

Master's degree or the equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related field; OR Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related field and 2 years of experience in software engineering or related experience.
Building and maintaining scalable React.js applications with advanced component architecture, state management (Redux), and performance optimization through code splitting and lazy loading
Developing with TypeScript to create type-safe, maintainable frontend code and reduce runtime errors
Creating responsive, accessible web apps using HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, Bootstrap, and Material UI while ensuring WCAG/ADA compliance
Collaborating with cross-functional teams in Agile environments using JIRA for sprints, feature delivery, issue resolution, and scalable solutions
Implementing automated testing with Jest and Cypress, following Test-Driven Development to ensure code quality
Designing wireframes, prototypes, and conducting UX research in Figma to improve usability and adoption
Ensuring responsive designs and optimized user interfaces for internal enterprise applications across devices
Developing and integrating REST and GraphQL APIs with relational databases; designing and optimizing schemas for scalable full-stack apps
Managing CI/CD pipelines with GitHub, Git, and automation tools to streamline releases and reduce deployment time
Implementing caching strategies and in-memory data stores using Redis for performance optimization in high-traffic applications
Deploying and managing applications on Microsoft Azure cloud platform.

Responsibilities

Participates in the discovery phase of small to medium-sized projects to come up with high level design by partnering with the product management, project management, business, and user experience teams.
Troubleshoots business and production issues by gathering information; performing root cause analysis to reduce future issues; engaging support teams to assist in the resolution of issues; developing solutions; driving the development of an action plan; performing actions as designated in the plan; interpreting the results to determine further action; and completing online documentation.
Manages small to large-sized complex projects by reviewing project requirements; translating requirements into technical solutions; researching and identifying alternative solutions; determining needed solution based on return on investment and value add to the business; gathering requested information; writing and developing code; conducting unit testing; communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders; collaborating with project team and cross functional teams; identifying areas of opportunity; interpreting information and identifying a solution; ensuring solution is sustainable across implementation and use; troubleshooting open issues and bug-fixes; and ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs.
Provides support to the business by responding to user questions, concerns, and issues; researching and identifying needed solutions; determining implementation designs; providing guidance regarding implications of new and enhanced systems; identifying short- and long-term solutions; and directing users to appropriate contacts for issues outside of associate's domain.
Prepare requirement traceability matrix and maintain traceability between business requirements, functional requirements, design, and test cases.
Contribute to the creation of user stories for component/module/simple requirements.
To create/configure minimalistic code for entire component/application and ensure the components are meeting business/technical requirements, non-functional requirements, low-maintainability, high-availability, and high-scalability needs.
Assist in the selection of appropriate languages, development standards and tools for software coding/configuration.
Take initiative to learn the fundamentals of different coding languages and frameworks that would be useful for future scope of work.
Build scripts for automation of repetitive and routine tasks in CI/CD, Testing or any other process.
Implement telemetry features as required independently.
Ensure security policy requirements are properly applied to components/application during code development/configuration.
To map the customer requirements in to test objectives.
Identify and create test cases for the component/module.
Execute test cases to test the code and detect errors and defects for the entire component.
Execute different types of testing using appropriate testing tools based on the testing needs.
To track and analyze defects for the component/ module and carry out regression testing to fix defects in all instances of code changes.
Analyze defects from past projects/solutions to avoid recurrence of similar defects.
Troubleshoot performance and availability bottlenecks for the application.
To conduct complex maintenance procedures for applications independently.
Monitor and evaluate the performance of the application by tracking and analyzing appropriate metrics; Perform maintenance and re-engineering activities.
Analyze application logs, maintenance activity data, performance data and provide analysis; Evaluate change requests to identify those which are valid and feasible.
