About The Position

As a Senior Software Engineer at Indeed, you will contribute to the development and evolution of software systems that support core products and services used by people around the world. You will work on improving existing platforms while helping shape next-generation solutions as Indeed continues to scale globally. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to build and scale Hiring Insights, a core employer-facing analytics product that turns billions of jobseeker interactions into competitive intelligence and spend guidance for employers. You will build rich, data-driven user experiences in React and TypeScript, integrate with GraphQL services powering employer analytics, and work with Snowflake and semantic views as needed to debug and solve challenges in the data layer. In this role, you will own meaningful features end-to-end. You will help deliver a major rebrand of Hiring Insights, build custom narratives answering employers' top questions about the labor market, and expand the product's footprint across Indeed's portfolio of employer surfaces. You will collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and data partners on a product tied directly to global employer growth and market expansion to 25+ countries.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and a minimum of 5 years of related experience; or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience; or a PhD without experience
  • Proven experience building and operating large-scale, high-performance web applications using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, with proficiency integrating GraphQL or gRPC APIs.
  • Deep understanding of UI/UX fundamentals and data visualization best practices for presenting complex information clearly.
  • Experience building or contributing to large-scale or distributed systems.
  • Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and core computer science fundamentals.
  • A demonstrated sense of ownership and accountability for delivered work.
  • Curiosity, eagerness to learn, and enjoyment of solving complex technical problems.

  • Contribute to the evolution of existing systems while helping prototype and deliver new capabilities.
  • Participate in code reviews and design discussions to maintain quality, reliability, and clarity.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data partners to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Identify performance and scalability improvements and enhance existing code accordingly.
  • Share knowledge and provide guidance to teammates through collaboration and feedback.
  • Communicate technical ideas clearly and effectively within the team.
