About The Position

As a Software Engineer III, you will lead the design and development of technical solutions for small to large projects by collaborating with cross-functional teams including product management and user experience. You will troubleshoot complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions while ensuring timely delivery. This role involves coding, testing, and maintaining high-quality software components with a focus on scalability, security, and performance. Additionally, you will provide guidance to junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement efforts within an agile development environment. Immigration Sponsorship support will NOT be available for this position. The Walmart Inbound Optimization team develops advanced supply chain solutions that improve cost efficiency through technology and data. This team takes full ownership of complex challenges, delivering scalable SaaS products from concept to deployment. As a Software Engineer III, you will collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers, emphasizing iterative development, technical excellence, and continuous delivery. The team drives impactful solutions aligned with Walmart’s business goals and operational success, fostering innovation in platform design, API development, and continuous integration to support a robust and efficient supply chain ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in software design, development, and delivery within Agile environments.
  • Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming and coding standards using languages such as Java, React, JavaScript, Node.js, Python, or C#.
  • Expertise in debugging, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting complex production issues.
  • Ability to develop and execute test cases, including automation and regression testing.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Skilled in documentation-based coding and maintaining traceability matrices for requirements and testing.
  • Demonstrated capability to mentor and guide small engineering teams effectively.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define high-level designs and translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Develop, test, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-quality code following coding standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production and business issues through root cause analysis and effective problem-solving.
  • Lead small engineering groups by providing guidance, documentation, and support to ensure timely delivery.
  • Implement automation scripts and telemetry features to enhance continuous integration and deployment processes.
  • Monitor application performance, conduct maintenance activities, and evaluate change requests for feasibility.
  • Support users by addressing technical inquiries and recommending sustainable solutions aligned with business needs.
