About The Position

The Software Engineer III role involves delivering highly complex solutions with significant system linkages, dependencies, and associated risk. The position leads and performs development efforts including analysis, design, coding, and testing. Responsibilities extend to overseeing and participating in testing, implementation, maintenance, and escalated support of Truist's most complex solutions. Development activities encompass customized coding, software integration, analysis, configuring solutions, and using pertinent tools to generate solutions. The role ensures adherence to company and industry standards, provides technical consultation on challenging situations, and writes and runs unit tests. It involves devising or modifying procedures to solve complex problems considering system capacity and limitations, and interpreting internal/external business challenges to recommend best practices. The engineer will use analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions, mentor less experienced teammates, and deliver high-quality working software. This includes automating manual/reusable tasks, working directly with the business, leveraging continuous engineering practices, and refining user stories. The role is responsible for development, unit testing, and supporting integration and functional testing, as well as providing warranty support and knowledge transfer to production support. Code must be developed in accordance with acceptance criteria established by the Product Owner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, CIS, Computer Engineering, or related technical field plus 6 years of progressive experience in software engineering or IT consulting positions.
  • Applying in-depth knowledge in information systems and understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function to identify, apply, and implement IT best practices.
  • Applying broad functional knowledge in requirement gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and deployment of applications.
  • Planning and managing projects and solving complex problems by applying best practices.
  • Providing direction and mentoring less experienced teammates.
  • Supporting Production apps to fix mission critical production issues, enhance the applications to implement additional features.
  • Working with CI/CD tools and technologies like Jenkins and Repository management tools including SVN, Gitlab, Github and Bitbucket to deliver the code to production environments.
  • Helping project architects and senior project leads in high level project design, low level design.
  • Building Proof of Concepts utilizing ongoing innovations in the technologies to build innovative and appealing solutions focusing customer needs.
  • Utilizing experience with: C#, .Net & .net CORE, Restful Web Services, Soap Web Services; Agile, Rally, Jira; AWS; Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab, SVN & Team Foundation Server (TFS); API Development; Postman; UX/UI Development with HTML, CSS, TypeScript, JavaScript & jQuery & Bootstrap; Angular, REACT, Node.js; MySQL & MS SQL Server; Adobe Experience Platform: RT-CDP, Analytics/Customer Journey Analytics, Offers Decision Engine, Audience Builder, Target, and Journey Optimizer.
  • In the alternative, 8 years of experience in software engineering or IT consulting positions performing the aforementioned.

  • Write and run unit tests.
  • Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.
  • Interpret internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices.
  • Use sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions.
  • Mentor less experienced teammates to build technical expertise.
  • Responsible for delivering high quality working software and automating manual/reusable tasks working directly, and consulting with, the business from the beginning of the design work.
  • Leverage continuous engineering practices to deliver business value regarding effectiveness of the design.
  • Actively participate in refining user stories.
  • Responsible for development and developing unit testing, and supporting integration and functional testing.
  • Responsible for providing warranty support and providing knowledge transfer to production support.
  • Develop code in accordance with the acceptance criteria established by the Product Owner.
