About The Position

As an SDET, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation solutions to ensure the quality of software products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product engineering and UX, to understand requirements and deliver high-quality features. In this role, you will troubleshoot complex system issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions to improve quality. You will own test strategy, automation frameworks, and quality processes across projects. Responsibilities include developing and executing automated and manual tests, managing project deliverables, and ensuring timely releases. Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging modern tools, coding standards, and DevOps practices. The Vision team develops technology solutions supporting Walmart’s Vision center for both in-store and online experiences. Focused on delivering seamless customer journeys through the native iOS app, the team collaborates with product, project, and user experience teams to design, develop, and test innovative features. Emphasizing technical excellence, continuous development, and effective troubleshooting, the team ensures scalable, high-quality solutions aligned with business goals. This collaborative environment fosters innovation and impactful technology delivery, enhancing customer satisfaction across the Vision space.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Android test automation using Kotlin or Java, with strong hands-on expertise in Appium (required) and TestNg frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of Mobile automation architecture, APIs, and mobile testing strategies.
  • Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks integrated with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Skilled in functional, regression, and integration testing for mobile apps.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement reliable solutions.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and promoting quality best practices, with strong collaboration, documentation, and requirement analysis skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • OR 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area.
  • Knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices and joining in creating accessible products and services following Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product, project, business, and user experience teams to design high-level solutions for small to medium projects.
  • Develop, test, and maintain code ensuring alignment with technical and business requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues through root cause analysis and coordinated action plans.
  • Manage complex projects by translating requirements into sustainable technical solutions and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Create and execute test cases, perform defect analysis, and conduct regression testing to maintain software quality.
  • Mentor and guide small engineering teams, providing technical direction and documentation.
  • Implement automation scripts and telemetry features to support continuous integration and delivery.
