About The Position

URBN is seeking an experienced front-end Software Engineer III to help develop AI-powered digital experiences by integrating algorithmic solutions with creative tools. The role implements user experience features, integrates services using agentic tools, and contributes to fast-paced software development lifecycle implementation across URBN’s evolving digital ecosystem. The engineer works with UX designers, engineers, data scientists, product managers, and domain experts to deliver business impact.

The position also contributes to machine-learning architecture, including data pipelines and applications that support model training and inference in production. It calls for strong engineering practices, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to take ownership and work with minimal oversight amid ambiguity.

Requirements

• Understanding of object-oriented principles and design patterns.
• Hands-on experience using agentic coding tools, such as Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI, or Copilot.
• Strong coding skills and software development experience.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Proficiency with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Vue or React, and Webpack.
• Understanding of state management methods and implementation, such as Vuex or Redux.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, or Microsoft Azure.
• Excellent communication skills; comfort with ambiguity and ability to take ownership and thrive with minimal oversight and process.
• Passion for building agentic workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design efficient and reusable front-end systems using JavaScript, Node.js, and React.
• Integrate with microservices and event-driven systems.
• Use and work with agentic workflows, tooling, and processes.
• Develop functional designs in collaboration with enterprise architects, developers, business partners, and end users.
• Collaborate with Product Designers, Product Managers, and other Software Engineers to deliver user-facing products.
• Collaborate with the team to implement and maintain ML architecture, including data pipelines and applications that enable model training and inference in production.
• Foster strong cross-functional partnerships.
• Champion and foster engineering best practices.
