About The Position

The Software Engineer III role is responsible for delivering technically complex solutions and providing system integration support. This role involves consulting with business product owners to understand end goals, offering solutions, and making recommendations during the design phase. The engineer will develop customized coding, perform software integration, conduct analysis, and configure solutions using project-specific tools. Key responsibilities include leading and participating in the development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support of highly complex solutions, ensuring adherence to company standards and robust unit testing. The role also entails building non-functional monitoring capabilities, providing escalated support for complex applications in production, and building and maintaining security controls. This position typically leads moderately complex projects and participates in larger initiatives, solving complex technical and operational problems, and acting as a resource for less experienced teammates. In an Agile environment, the engineer is responsible for delivering high-quality working software, automating manual/reusable tasks, engaging with the business from the design phase, and leveraging continuous engineering practices. This includes refining user stories, designing and maintaining automated unit testing, supporting integration and functional testing, providing automated monitoring, warranty support, and knowledge transfer to production support, and developing code in accordance with acceptance criteria.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, CIS, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 6 years of progressive experience in software engineering or IT consulting positions performing the following: Applying in-depth knowledge in information systems and understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function to identify, apply, and implement IT best practices.
  • Applying broad functional knowledge in requirement gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and deployment of applications.
  • Planning and managing projects and solving complex problems by applying best practice.
  • Providing direction and mentoring less experienced teammates.
  • Utilizing experience with: C#, .NET Core / .NET 6+, ASP.NET, MVC, Web API, ORM Framework, VB.NET, JavaScript, Angular, and SSIS.
  • At least 1 year of experience with: jQuery
  • Crystal Reports
  • CI/CD Pipelines
  • IIS

Responsibilities

  • Build non-functional monitoring capabilities and provide escalated support for highly complex applications in production.
  • Build in and maintain security controls and monitoring in support of company standards.
  • Typically lead moderately complex projects and participate in larger, more complex initiatives.
  • Solve complex technical and operational problems.
  • Act as a resource for teammates with less experience.
  • May oversee the work of a small team.
  • Responsible for delivering high quality working software and automating manual/reusable tasks working directly, and engage with, the business from the beginning of the design work.
  • Leverage continuous engineering practices to deliver business value regarding effectiveness of the design.
  • Actively participate in refining user stories.
  • Responsible for design, developing, and maintaining automated unit testing, and supporting integration and functional testing.
  • Responsible for providing automated monitoring capabilities, providing warranty support, and providing knowledge transfer to production support.
  • Develop code in accordance with the acceptance criteria established by the Product Owner.
