About The Position

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within Employee Platforms, you will serve as an experienced member of an agile team, designing and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You will deliver critical technology solutions across technical areas and business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives. The role includes designing, developing, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining software, producing architecture and design artifacts, and using data insights to improve applications and systems. You will also use enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools responsibly to support engineering work, validate their outputs, and share effective practices with the team.

Requirements

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 3 years of applied experience.
• Hands-on server-side experience in some or all of Java, JEE, Spring, Spring Boot, REST, Kafka, JUnit, integration testing, BDD, and testing.
• Practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for tasks such as coding, test creation, troubleshooting, or documentation, and ability to evaluate, validate, and refine their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resiliency and security expectations; ability to guide peers in safe and effective use.
• Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Genuine programming and coding experience, with enthusiasm for delivering applications to production.

Nice To Haves

• Experience building, deploying, and managing applications in one cloud environment, preferably AWS.
• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
• Exposure to cloud technologies.

Responsibilities

• Execute software solution design, development, and technical troubleshooting, applying creative approaches to build solutions and break down technical problems.
• Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
• Use enterprise-authorized AI coding assistance to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity on complex deliverables, validating results through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards.
• Contribute learnings and reusable AI-assisted development patterns to improve team effectiveness.
• Apply knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized from automation.
• Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure software development meets design constraints.
• Gather, analyze, synthesize, and visualize or report on large, diverse data sets to support continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
• Identify hidden problems and data patterns and use insights to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
