We are seeking a Software Engineer III to join a small, collaborative team to help implement and expand upon our current product offerings to our residents, as well as our operations, marketing, and leasing teams. The ideal candidate is proficient in architecting, developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting distributed systems and cloud-based applications using the latest technologies and tools. This role will continually focus on learning, evaluating, and using the ever-changing practices and tools of their craft to achieve corporate objectives and priorities. A Software Engineer III will provide feedback, guidance, and mentorship through pair programming, collaboration, and effective communication with colleagues. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering from an accredited college or university, or equivalent work experience, or successful completion of a development boot camp.
  • At least five (5) years of work experience in software development.
  • Advanced knowledge of at least one high-level programming language (e.g., Apex, Java, NodeJS, Python).
  • Experience developing on the Salesforce platform (Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components) and familiarity with Salesforce integrations (REST/SOAP APIs, Platform Events).
  • Advanced knowledge of CI/CD concepts and practical experience applying them.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of system design, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Proficient with structured query language (SQL) and relational database concepts.
  • Proficient knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • General knowledge of web development concepts.
  • Follows and promotes Agile practices and principles.
  • Ability to develop complex software in Apex and other programming languages, gained through relevant knowledge, education, experience, and/or training.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Willingness to mentor and support the growth of other engineers.
  • Contributes logical and meaningful input in discussions and meetings.
  • Provides constructive feedback and guidance in code reviews.

Nice To Haves

  • Salesforce Platform Developer I certification preferred; Platform Developer II a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Linux/Unix systems, particularly on AWS.
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy frontend and backend services with a focus on high availability, low latency, and scalability.
  • Design, develop, and configure custom solutions on the Salesforce platform, including Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and declarative tools.
  • Assist and lead the design, development, documentation, testing, and debugging of new and existing software systems and/or applications.
  • Identify and resolve defects of advanced scope using appropriate engineering tools and techniques, such as browser developer tools, application performance monitoring (APM) and logging platforms, and Salesforce debug logs.
  • Exhibit strong technical problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Promote and advocate for best practices, design standards, and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively and professionally in a team environment to achieve shared objectives.
  • Write, test, commit, review, deploy, and document code.
  • Provide support and maintain existing products, and add new features as requested by customers.
  • Anticipate and adapt to a changing business environment and requirements.
  • Collaborate and communicate with stakeholders, product owners, quality assurance, and other teams in an agile work environment, including design meetings, planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Participate regularly in Agile/Scrum activities and learn from experienced developers.
