This position is for a Software Engineer II within the SharePoint Online group, which is focused on revolutionizing cloud storage, team collaboration, and information sharing for consumers and enterprises. The team operates a large, fast-growing, and quality-focused service, shipping innovation daily and using data-driven decision making to ensure a trustworthy, massively scalable service. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements, including passing the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
  • Excellent hands-on design, coding and debugging skills
  • Track record of driving projects independently, taking calculated smart risks and executing on them successfully
  • Desire to operate in an agile development environment
  • Experience with cloud technologies and/or cloud services

Responsibilities

  • Working on components within the SharePoint Online infrastructure, such as SharePoint data store, capacity management, performance, authentication, networking and much more
  • Building the service fabric and engineering ecosystem for SharePoint Online, which includes fully automated datacenter management, continuous worldwide delivery, Azure integration, and optimizing scalability and latency
  • Designing and implementing features using service-oriented architecture to run at massive scale with industry-leading reliability
  • Working in a collaborative environment with teams of Engineers building a cool cloud service
