About The Position

As a Software Engineer II at Walmart Global Tech, you'll play a pivotal role in designing and building robust backend systems that power seamless digital experiences for millions of customers. You will work across multiple domains, contributing to the development of scalable services that are critical to Walmart’s digital platforms. About Team: The Sam's Club NextGen Backend Checkout Services Team is a part of the Sam's Club membership warehouse club, a business model that provides our members with high-quality products at prices that are unrivaled by traditional retail. Sam's Club provides a carefully curated assortment of items, as well as developing and leading technologies and services such as Scan & Go, Club Pickup, and home delivery service in select markets. Sam's Club also provides travel, auto purchasing, pharmacy, optical, hearing aid centers, tire and battery centers, and a portfolio of business operations support services. Our team is primarily responsible for supporting the next-generation backend checkout services for Sam's Club, ensuring a seamless and efficient shopping experience for our members. Our backend checkout services team is dedicated to delivering innovative solutions that streamline the checkout process, enhancing the overall shopping experience for our members.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in Java technologies, Distributed systems and large-scale application development and design.
  • Hands on experience Spring Boot, REST, Kafka, Cassandra.
  • Experience with a containerization technology and Microservices
  • Well versed in CI/CD and exposure to DevOps practices, and monitoring tools.
  • Strong adherence to SLDC process and Scrum/agile methodologies
  • Work with Java, Multithreading, Data Structures, Algorithm, Design Patterns and develop robust high- performance and scalable applications.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area.
  • 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs to support Walmart’s digital experiences.
  • Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver impactful features and solutions.
  • Build scalable and reliable systems that handle large volumes of traffic and data.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while following engineering best practices.
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues in distributed systems across environments.
  • Contribute to performance optimization, security improvements, and system resilience.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
