About The Position

The Software Engineer II independently designs, develops, and maintains cloud-based and web application components in support of business objectives. They contribute to full-stack development, lead small projects, and mentor junior engineers. This role is responsible for writing clean, scalable code, ensuring system performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and refine technical solutions. A Software Engineer II is expected to follow coding best practices, participate in code reviews, and remain current with emerging technologies and development methodologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 2–4 years of experience in software development
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as C# or Java
  • Strong experience with front-end technologies and frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Working knowledge of server-side languages such as Python, .NET, or JavaScript
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL database technologies (e.g., MSSQL, Cosmos DB)
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities
  • Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours, if needed, to meet the job requirements
  • Employees must provide their own reliable internet if working a remote/hybrid position

Responsibilities

  • Independently develop website architecture for small to mid-sized projects
  • Deploy and author code for cloud infrastructure and software components on the Azure platform, including: Azure Functions, Service Bus, Logic Apps, Cosmos DB (NoSQL), Data Factory, Event Grid
  • Design and implement moderately complex user interactions on web pages
  • Develop and optimize back-end website applications with minimal supervision
  • Create and manage databases to support application functionality
  • Ensure cross-platform optimization and application responsiveness
  • Lead small projects through the full software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Design and develop basic APIs and support their integrations
  • Participate in team discussions, sprint planning, and story refinement sessions
  • Document technical solutions, implementations, and acceptance criteria
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure adequate test coverage
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
  • Mentor and support Software Engineer I team members
  • Guide user stories through SDLC phases with oversight
