Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology is seeking a Software Engineer II to join the Audience Data and Measurement (ADM) team within Ad Platforms. This global organization builds and advances the technological backbone for Disney’s media business. The ADM team focuses on helping advertisers reach the right audience and deliver personalized experiences through a unified platform for audience data exchange, enrichment, ad measurement, and high-concurrency, low-latency audience targeting. This role involves working with machine learning, big data, microservices, and data visualization to deliver end-to-end solutions. As a Software Engineer II, you will leverage your skills in Java, Scala, Python, scripting, DevOps, and data persistence to develop and test new features. You will be a key contributor to application architecture, code quality, and ensuring the team builds the right solutions for users. The role requires a candidate with 4+ years of experience in designing and architecting scalable, secure, and performant big data applications. Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Flink), orchestration and containerization platforms (Airflow, Docker, Kubernetes), and persistence/data streaming technologies (Databricks, Snowflake, Redis, Kafka) is highly valued. Experience in a startup environment and comfort with multiple roles are also desirable. The team operates using agile methodology and lean principles, focusing on delivering high-quality work quickly.
