About The Position

CTG is seeking to fill a Software Engineer II opening for our client. This is a remote, 12-month contract position. The role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining enterprise software applications and system enhancements. Responsibilities include performing systems analysis, application design, coding, debugging, and implementation for complex technical solutions. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle, lead technical efforts on medium to large-scale projects, mentor junior developers, and develop technical specifications, documentation, test plans, and project estimates. Additionally, the role requires troubleshooting production issues, implementing performance improvements, and evaluating new technologies. Ensuring applications meet security, risk, compliance, and quality standards, and coordinating with business stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable software solutions are key aspects of this position. The engineer will independently perform high-level systems analysis and software development activities, lead technical workstreams, and coordinate project activities for development teams. Partnering with technology leaders, business users, vendors, and cross-functional teams to deliver business-critical solutions and providing technical guidance as a subject matter resource on assigned projects are also expected.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree with 5+ years of systems analysis and application development experience, or 7+ years of combined education and professional experience, including at least 5 years of application development.
  • Strong background in Software Engineering, Database Technologies, and Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting enterprise applications.
  • Knowledge of software development tools, application architecture, and system integration concepts.
  • Experience with database technologies and application development platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working closely with business stakeholders to define and implement technical solutions.
  • Proven ability to coordinate project milestones, technical deliverables, and development activities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking abilities.
