TD is seeking a Software Engineer II to join their Technology Solutions team in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This role involves developing new solutions, features, and performing unit/component testing for application development initiatives. The engineer will support business activities through enhancements and break/fix implementations, potentially including peer code reviews. Collaboration with technology partners to ensure components meet requirements and performance goals is key. The role requires analyzing technical requirements, recommending engineering solutions, and estimating coding efforts. The engineer will also work with stakeholders to ensure engineering solutions align with technical direction, performance, time-to-market, and innovation goals. Monitoring product lifecycles, documenting system components, participating in quality management reviews, and creating/maintaining quality code are also responsibilities. The role includes providing technical expertise during incident management, analyzing incident reports, performing impact assessments, and facilitating communication during incident resolution. Assisting in the development of processes for issue prevention and participating in problem determination and resolution are expected. The engineer will adhere to enterprise frameworks, manage programs/policies, and collaborate with stakeholders to proactively prevent defects. Continuous improvement, automation opportunities, and cost minimization are encouraged. Conducting code reviews, monitoring service/productivity, and implementing process improvements are part of the role. The engineer will also lead/facilitate remediation plans for performance/risk/governance issues, manage relationships with business lines and control functions, and identify/manage risks. Staying updated on emerging issues, trends, and regulatory requirements is important. The role fosters a culture of risk management and control. Team participation includes supporting a positive work environment, providing thought leadership, staying current on trends, engaging in personal development, and keeping others informed. Mentoring team members, providing guidance, and resolving issues proactively are also expected.
