About The Position

CTG is seeking to fill a Software Engineer II opening for our client. This is a remote, 2-month contract position. The role involves designing, developing, testing, debugging, and supporting applications and system enhancements. The engineer will perform systems analysis, application design, and technical problem resolution. Key responsibilities include developing technical and functional specifications, test plans, and documentation. The engineer will analyze complex relationships among applications, interfaces, platforms, and business processes, and coordinate development activities with various stakeholders. Participation in the full software development lifecycle is expected, along with evaluating and recommending technologies to improve performance. The role also involves promoting development standards, maintaining application effectiveness, and providing day-to-day support. The engineer may coordinate or lead development activities and provide technical guidance to less experienced team members. The position works under the direction of a Technology Team Lead while independently handling high-level systems analysis and technical development. The engineer may coordinate project tasks, manage development activities, and lead initiatives of varying scopes, interacting with senior management, technology teams, business stakeholders, clients, and vendors. The role may involve directing and monitoring less experienced technical resources and coordinating development tasks on project-based assignments, potentially serving as a technical representative on committees and special projects.

Requirements

Associate degree and 5 years of systems analysis/application development experience, or a combined minimum of 7 years of higher education and/or work experience, including 5 years of relevant experience.
Strong application development experience with Java and React.
Experience with Angular and .NET.
Experience with MS SQL Server and Azure.
Strong systems analysis, application development, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
Experience working on multiple complex projects and coordinating between technology and business teams.
Experience developing and implementing systems solutions and driving project milestones and delivery.
Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of application frameworks and integrated/interfacing applications.
Experience serving as a subject matter expert for supported applications or business functions.
Advanced understanding of application architecture and system dependencies.
Experience leading technical initiatives beyond normal business-as-usual activities.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, debug, and support basic to complex applications and system enhancements using Java, React, Angular, .NET, MS SQL Server, and Azure.
Perform systems analysis, application design, development, and technical problem resolution.
Develop technical and functional specifications, test plans, documentation, and project assessments.
Analyze complex relationships among applications, interfaces, platforms, and business processes.
Coordinate development activities and collaborate with Technology, Operations, business units, vendors, and other stakeholders.
Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from technical analysis and design through testing and user acceptance.
Evaluate and recommend technologies, processes, and system solutions to improve application performance and business capabilities.
Promote development standards, procedures, risk controls, and internal control requirements.
Maintain application effectiveness and provide day-to-day support and troubleshooting as needed.
May coordinate or lead development activities and provide technical guidance to less experienced team members.
