About The Position

Our team owns how employers manage their job posts on Indeed. Whether an employer has one job open or thousands, we build the surfaces they use to see what those jobs are doing and act on them. We are looking for a full-stack software engineer to design, build, and launch new features on these web applications and to keep improving the experiences employers already rely on, working in React and TypeScript on a micro-frontend architecture backed by GraphQL as well as in Kotlin on our backend services.
You will collaborate with designers, product managers, and fellow engineers to deliver product experiences that meet customer needs, turning designs into accessible, responsive interfaces that hold up across devices and locales. You will build reusable components, wire them to the GraphQL APIs that back them, and own and support the surfaces you ship, keeping them free of client-side errors and healthy on Core Web Vitals. You will use A/B experiments, real-user monitoring, and product analytics to see how employers actually use what you build and to make data-informed decisions about feature design, performance, and reliability. You will also contribute to development and maintenance of our backend services. Finally, you will support other engineers through code review and knowledge sharing, while continuing to deepen your software engineering expertise and grow as an engineer.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience
• Proficiency in one or more modern backend programming languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin, or similar).
• Experience building and operating large-scale, high-performance, and resilient systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
• Curiosity and a willingness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-performance software systems
• Contribute to system architecture and technical design, validating solutions through data and experimentation where appropriate
• Participate in code and design reviews to maintain high engineering standards
• Own and support applications during business hours, ensuring system health and reliability
• Use metrics, logging, and analytics to make data-informed decisions and improve system performance
• Collaborate closely with partners across engineering, product, data science, and design to deliver solutions
• Contribute to cross-team initiatives and support the growth of other engineers through mentorship and knowledge sharing
