About The Position

As an Engineer II on the CXE Web team in Starbucks Technology, you'll build and maintain customer-facing web experiences on Starbucks.com and Starbucks.ca, including order & pay, gifting, account management, and the content-managed marketing site. You'll work across a JavaScript/TypeScript stack spanning React/Redux apps server-rendered with Node.js, Next.js, and SvelteKit, collaborating with designers, product managers, and other engineers to ship reliable, accessible, and performant features.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional experience building production web applications
  • Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks/libraries such as React, Redux, Node.js/Express, Next.js, and familiarity with or willingness to learn SvelteKit
  • Experience with component-based UI architecture, RESTful/GraphQL APIs, and CSS (including CSS Modules or utility-first frameworks like Tailwind)
  • Working knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG), including semantic HTML, ARIA patterns, keyboard navigation, and accessible forms
  • Experience with unit/integration testing (e.g. Vitest) and version control workflows (Git/GitHub)

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure) and CI/CD pipelines is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain features across our web applications, integrating with GraphQL and REST/OpenAPI backend services
  • Write well-tested, maintainable code and participate in code reviews, following established team conventions for state management, routing, and component architecture
  • Partner with cross-functional teammates (design, product, QA) to troubleshoot issues, debug production incidents, and improve application performance and reliability.
