About The Position

Klaviyo is seeking passionate Engineers who are adept at building, owning, and scaling features, and overcoming technical challenges. The company operates a real-time data platform built on Amazon Web Services (AWS) using Python. The Data Warehousing Team is responsible for a significant portion of Klaviyo's real-time analytical queries, processing thousands of queries per second to support analytical reporting capabilities. As a software engineer on this team, you will design, build, and maintain systems for core product areas, collaborate with cross-functional teams, write technical design documents, create system infrastructure, develop high-quality code, and manage large-scale systems in production. You will also review designs and code from other engineers to provide feedback and foster growth.

Requirements

Highly skilled in using at least one modern programming language
5+ years of experience in a software engineering discipline
Significant experience with backend, service oriented application development
Experience with OLAP databases (schema design, normalization / denormalization trade-offs, performance, operations)
Able to communicate well
Able to work with others on a team
Able to learn continuously and adapt to a high growth environment
Able to stick with and solve difficult problems
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Experience with distributed systems
Experience performance tuning and scaling systems
Experience with high volume data processing and storage systems
Experience using Linux operating systems

Responsibilities

Designing, building, and maintaining systems to support core product areas in Klaviyo.
