About The Position

This is a fully remote role within the United States. We're looking for a driven Software Engineer to join our team and help eliminate the financial complexity of healthcare. This role will support building our core pricing systems. We value autonomous contributors who can handle complex technical challenges while collaborating effectively across teams. We have a small, growing, and highly-capable development team. As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you should be comfortable working independently on complex assignments with minimal guidance. As you would be working for a fast-growing start-up, your role would be wide-ranging. In this role, we're looking for someone who can successfully execute on non-routine technical problems and deliver consistent high-quality work.

Requirements

  • 3+ years work experience in Python, or strong experience in another programming language and some exposure to Python
  • Expertise in at least one popular Python web framework (preferably Django) or a similar popular web framework in another language (like Ruby or Rails)
  • Good understanding of SQL and how to efficiently use databases to solve problems
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies such as TypeScript and Vue.js
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Desire to learn new technologies
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field, or equivalent experience/knowledge. We are happy to work with strong candidates with non-traditional educational backgrounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working on open-source projects
  • Experience using with git and GitHub
  • Strong writing skills

Responsibilities

  • Development of Django-based websites using Python, Postgresql, etc.
  • Work with large data sets, including scripting imports, exports, data cleaning, analysis, etc.
  • Build frontend data visualization components that enable users to explore and interpret complex healthcare pricing data
  • Write effective, scalable code.
  • Test and debug programs
  • Improve functionality of existing systems
  • Implement security and data protection solutions
  • Assess and prioritize feature requests
  • Coordinate with other team members to understand user requirements and provide technical solutions
