About The Position

Homes.com is seeking an object-oriented Software Engineer with a focus on backend development to contribute to building innovative, scalable applications that enhance user experience. The role involves developing the next generation of residential products, apps, and services, offering opportunities for broad experience and significant impact on the company and the real estate industry. This position is based in Arlington, VA, with a hybrid work schedule of four days onsite (Monday-Thursday) and one day remote.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person college/university (preferably in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field)
  • A track record of commitment to prior employers
  • 3+ years of production development experience with C#, .NET (or .NET Core) and/or Python
  • Experience delivering products that meet specifications and performance SLA
  • Experienced in unit, performance, and automation testing
  • Deeply understand what drives the business for which you are building software

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in relational database design (AWS RDS, MS SQL) including performance tuning
  • Experience with AWS S3, Step Functions, Lambda, SQS, Dynamo, ElastiCache, Apache Kafka and Datadog
  • A demonstrable track record of building and launching successful products and platforms

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high performance web applications used by hundreds of thousands of users globally
  • Design and develop using Object Oriented design principles and software design patterns to attain high reusability and maintainability
  • Promote consistent architecture patterns for design and development within and across Homes development teams
  • Collaborate closely with other Software Engineers across the organization.
  • Advocate standards-driven technology
  • Facilitate discussions among other .NET and database developers to exchange new ideas and improvements
  • Continually evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends and best practices that can be used to strengthen CoStar’s technology platform and development practices.
