Software Engineer II, Agentic AI Developer Tools

About the role: You will help build the foundation for agentic workflows that scale the enterprise software development lifecycle. You will develop coding harnesses, reusable libraries and automated workflows that enable coding agents to create, test and improve software. You will work primarily with Python and TypeScript while developing skills in emerging agentic programming tools and Model Context Protocol development. Success means delivering reliable solutions, improving developer productivity and resolving technical issues with limited supervision.
Requirements
- Practical software development experience using Python, TypeScript or comparable programming languages.
- Understanding of application design, APIs, source control, debugging and automated testing.
- Experience building or integrating developer tools, automation frameworks or software libraries.
- Ability to translate multifaceted requirements into maintainable software solutions.
- Familiarity with cloud-based software development, deployment and operational support.
- Ability to manage semi-complex assignments independently and communicate technical information clearly.
- Degree in computer science, engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice To Haves
- Experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or OpenCode.
- Exposure to agentic programming, coding agents or large language model application development.
- Experience developing Model Context Protocol servers, tools or integrations.
- Familiarity with prompt design, tool calling, evaluations and AI workflow observability.
- Experience supporting implementations or troubleshooting software directly with clients.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain agentic workflows across the software development lifecycle.
- Build coding harnesses, reusable libraries and integrations using Python and TypeScript.
- Configure coding agents to generate, test, debug and refine software safely.
- Develop and integrate Model Context Protocol servers, tools and supporting services.
- Create automated tests and validation controls for AI-assisted software development.
- Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, technical discussions and agile delivery activities.
- Troubleshoot integration, configuration and performance issues across development environments.
- Collaborate with engineering, implementation and client-facing teams to deliver practical solutions.
- Document software designs, operating procedures, interfaces and configuration requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve software quality, developer experience and workflow automation.
