About The Position

Everfox is seeking a Software Engineer I to enhance the capabilities of cyber products for security-conscious government and commercial customers. This role involves developing and testing new product capabilities, software development/build tools, software test infrastructure, and operational support for cross-domain products. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a cohesive team environment, is eager to learn, and can utilize various software development and operational tools to test, debug, and support software for secure Linux desktop environments, IT operations/enterprise management, IP networking/routing, and remote/virtual desktop deployments.

Requirements

  • BS Computer Science, Computer Engineer, Information Security or equivalent
  • Experience with software development in Linux environments using a variety of programming and scripting languages including Java, Python, Go, C/C++, and/or bash
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP networking & related protocols (such as HTTP, SSH, IPSEC, TLS/SSL, etc)
  • Basic understanding of private and public keys and or certificates
  • Experience with version control technologies such as Git
  • Red Hat Enterprise, Fedora or Ubuntu Linux operating systems
  • If needed the applicant must have the ability to obtain the appropriate work authorizations that may be required under U.S. ITAR or EAR regulations from the applicable U.S government agency.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with security design and architecture of Cross Domain solutions (CDS)
  • Agile or Scrum development experience
  • Experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Gemini or OpenCode
  • Experience with network analysis tools such as Wireshark
  • Experience with virtual desktop redisplay technologies such as Azure Virtual Desktop, RDP, Citrix Receiver or VMware Horizon View

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate competency working hands-on in Linux based environments.
  • Develop new features and extensions to existing products using a variety of languages including Rust, C, C++, Java, and proprietary languages.
  • Self-starter utilizing your Linux and scripting expertise to integrate new features and extensions into complex products.
  • Leverage standard networking concepts to support the design and implementation of Cross Domain capabilities.
  • Develop data inspection policies using proprietary and open-source programming languages.
