About The Position

Solipsys Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Raytheon Technologies (RTX), is seeking a Software Engineer with experience in Java to join their diverse team. This role involves developing innovative new features for a new real-time situational awareness Command & Control Systems (C2) using Java, designing, architecting, and coding critical capabilities in an active Agile environment, and working collaboratively to innovate software solutions. The role also offers opportunities to learn about developing high-quality software for C2 systems, supporting engineering process improvements, working within a collaborative team, updating documentation, and interfacing with other engineering disciplines to meet program milestones.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Relevant work experience in software development using the Java SDK (must).
  • Relevant work experience in software development using Object Oriented Design methodologies such as Model View Controller.
  • Experience and/or knowledge in programming multithreaded systems.
  • Experience in software development using C++.
  • Strong oral & written communication skills & proven leadership skills.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals such as data structures, algorithms and information retrieval.
  • Relevant work experience using SW Development tools (e.g. Maven, Apache Ant, Jenkins, etc).
  • Relevant work experience with full life cycle development including exposure to software requirements, design, development, debug and test.

Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative new features for a new real-time situational awareness Command & Control Systems (C2) using Java.

  • Work in a highly collaborate team environment to design, architect and innovate software solutions.
  • Support engineering process improvements, audits and peer reviews.
  • Work within a highly collaborative software team and interface with other engineering disciplines as needed to meet program contract milestones.
  • Update documentation related to test, verification, and design activities.
