The Integrated Solutions, Modeling, and Architecture (ISMA) directorate assesses, develops, and evaluates solution architectures for our customers’ largest, most complex challenges across all the operational domains. In the Operations and Mission Analysis Department you’ll be part of a special team that analyzes the world’s most challenging threats and helps define new capabilities to counter them, pushing the boundaries of innovation, and leading the industry in operational modeling and simulation using our purpose-built software. As a team member in the Air Dominance Modeling and Analysis section, you will join a high-performing team of engineers working with high-fidelity sensor, platform, and weapon simulations to provide actionable analysis to the Department of Defense and the Warfighter. Raytheon is currently seeking a Kill Chain Software Developer Engineer I. This is an onsite role in Tucson, AZ, with the potential for occasional travel, perhaps a few times a year.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field (including computer science).
Experience with at least one object oriented programming language (Python, C++, Java, C#, etc)
Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects

Cumulative GPA ≥ 3.0
Coursework, internship, projects or work experience in the following areas: Simulation modeling, development, and/or analysis of physical systems
Agile development methodologies
Probability and statistics
Software development processes and object-oriented design using and/or Python in either Unix or Linux computing environments.
Software Configuration Management tools and processes (git, subversion, mercurial)
Computation on high-performance computing (HPC) grids/clusters, SLURM
Distributed simulation communication standards (DIS, TENA, HLA)
DevOps tools, processes, and methods
Demonstrated ability in the following areas: Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with peers, customers, management, and functional partners (IT, Cyber Security, Security).
Creation and presentation of effective technical reports in PowerPoint and Document form.
Prior experience with classified material
Active and transferable U.S. government issued SECRET or TOP SECRET security clearance

Responsibilities

Actively participate as a member of an agile development team
Design, Develop, Review and Test new software features in an all-digital distributed simulation environment
Implement APIs and integration external high-fidelity digital simulation software into Raytheon’s Air Dominance Testbed and Air Combat Evaluation Model®.
Provide direct Warfighter support by developing software used to inform operator tactics and procedures.
Work with Subject Matter Experts to verify and validate digital simulation performance
Work cross-domain to develop medium-fidelity physics models of conceptual missile systems
