The Software Sensors: Airborne Radar & Space Software Center develops real-time embedded software for platforms like military aircraft and other complex airborne systems. This involves integrating operating systems, device drivers, networking, and control software with radio frequency signals, avionics, and flight control processing. Software engineers design, develop, and build innovative solutions, joining fast-paced agile teams on the leading edge of real-time embedded systems, digital signal processing, and DevOps technologies and methods. The company seeks curious, creative problem solvers to design and implement highly innovative systems, learn advanced software engineering practices, and apply new technologies to develop next-generation capabilities. This position is an onsite role located in Goleta, CA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Experience with C, C++, or C# programming
  • Knowledge of assembly and structured programming concepts.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year or more of Calculus, Physics and Computer Science studies that include assembly level programming, plus coursework covering modern software languages.
  • Knowledge of data structures and algorithms, systems software design, operating systems and architectures.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA desired.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of real-time embedded software, application software, and tools.
  • Develop new work products or enhancements of existing applications and systems.
  • Participate in internal reviews of software components and systems.
  • Collaborate with our chief engineers, and other disciplines within Engineering.
  • Work on difficult problems with defined scope, schedule, and expectations.
  • Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of software products.
