About The Position

Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, is looking to hire a Software Engineer to support our Power and Controls organization. This role focuses on secure software development, automation, and continuous improvement in support of critical communication and cyber intelligence programs. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, integration, and protection of software solutions that directly support Power and Controls programs. You will work closely with development, security, and operations teams to ensure that security and reliability are embedded into every stage of the software lifecycle, enabling seamless delivery of mission-critical systems. This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered. This role is categorized as hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years prior relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework with a focus in Cybersecurity
  • Experience with tailoring and hardening of operating systems
  • Experience with system and application penetration testing
  • Experience with SAST and analyzing security impact of code defects
  • Experience with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
  • Experience with Model Based Systems and Software Development (e.g., Cameo, MathWorks tools)
  • Experience in Embedded Software Development, including real time embedded systems and programming languages such as C, C++, or Ada
  • Knowledge of Cybersecurity Control Frameworks and Cyber Risk Assessments, preferably in embedded systems environments beyond Internet of Things (IoT)

Responsibilities

  • Assist in analyzing system data flows to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Support the development of secure product designs
  • Develop, deploy and automate security tools for identifying product security flaws
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure compliance with cybersecurity requirements during product development stages.
  • Participate in vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and other security evaluations under supervision.
  • Support organizational adoption of the Avionics Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC)
