About The Position

The CCIP Protocol team is hiring a Software Engineer to design and maintain the services that coordinate fast, fault-tolerant cross-chain transactions under adversarial conditions. This role strengthens the reliability, security, and operational resilience of the core CCIP protocol while helping accelerate protocol performance and long-term ecosystem growth.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated backend engineering experience using Go, Rust, or TypeScript.
  • Experience delivering software within crypto projects or remote-first engineering organizations.
  • Proven ability to design distributed systems with security and reliability as foundational engineering principles.
  • Built or maintained backend systems that operate in production with a focus on resiliency and operational excellence.
  • Experience collaborating in engineering design discussions and contributing to technical decision-making.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated knowledge of DeFi protocols and the broader decentralized application ecosystem.
  • Experience deploying or operating services using cloud infrastructure and tooling such as containerized workloads and public cloud platforms.
  • Hands-on experience using blockchain bridges or interoperability protocols.
  • Understanding of bridge-specific security risks and common attack vectors.
  • Familiarity with non-EVM ecosystems such as Solana, Aptos, Canton, or similar blockchain platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Build and evolve the backend services that power secure, reliable cross-chain message execution across blockchain ecosystems.
  • Improve protocol reliability for EVM chains by delivering resilient systems designed with security as a primary consideration.
  • Reduce cross-chain transaction latency through optimizations to RPC usage and protocol performance.
  • Develop internal tooling that enables faster diagnosis and resolution of production issues during incident response.
  • Contribute to protocol security initiatives that strengthen the resilience of CCIP under adversarial conditions.
  • Participate in technical design discussions that improve the architecture and long-term scalability of the protocol.
