Software Engineer, GTM

About The Position

OpenArt is hiring engineers for its engineering team to turn fast-moving market trends into products people want to use. The role sits at the intersection of engineering, product, and go-to-market: identifying emerging opportunities in generative AI, rapidly prototyping ideas, and shipping innovative experiences. The engineer will contribute to OpenArt Agent and other core products, help build and evolve OpenArt Arena, and evaluate video and image generation models to translate their strengths into better product capabilities and user experiences. This is a highly product-oriented engineering role, working closely with product, design, and the broader GTM team to move from market signal to prototype to production. It calls for strong product instincts, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to balance speed, quality, and scalability. The work includes shipping polished, production-ready frontend experiences using React and Next.js, end to end. OpenArt describes its culture as founder-led, high-ownership, and low-process. Engineers own systems end to end, and shipped work can appear in the product within days. The company is building AI-powered creative tools for creators worldwide. The role is based in San Carlos, California, with hybrid work allowed. Visa sponsorship is available.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of full-stack engineering experience shipping production software.
  • Hands-on experience building LLM-powered agents or applications that have reached real users, rather than only prototypes or demos.
  • Working familiarity with agent harness concepts such as tool use, context and memory management, multi-step planning, or sub-agent orchestration.
  • Solid data modeling and schema design skills for real product use cases.
  • A strong AI-assisted coding practice, using tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor as a core part of the development process, with informed opinions about what makes them work well.
  • Product sense, including the ability to think about what makes an agent experience trustworthy and delightful, not merely functional.
  • Clear communication skills, including the ability to explain agent behavior and technical trade-offs to non-engineering teammates.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience authoring reusable Agent Skills or structured agent workflows.
  • Practical experience building MCP servers or CLI tooling for agents.
  • Exposure to agent orchestration frameworks such as Claude Agent SDK or LangGraph, or to LLM evaluation and observability tooling.
  • Hands-on experience with image or video generation models.
  • Startup experience or experience building something from 0 to 1; side projects count.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and iteration of OpenArt Agent and other OpenArt products.
  • Build and evolve OpenArt Arena, creating intuitive experiences for exploring and evaluating generative AI models.
  • Partner with product, design, and GTM to turn emerging market trends into compelling product capabilities.
  • Evaluate video and image generation models across quality, capabilities, reliability, and real-world use cases.
  • Rapidly prototype and ship innovative projects inspired by new models, technologies, and shifts in user behavior.
  • Ship polished, production-ready frontend experiences in React and Next.js, end to end.
  • Make pragmatic trade-offs among speed, correctness, and scalability, and communicate them clearly.

Benefits

  • Meaningful ownership through equity in what you build.
  • High-autonomy, high-growth environment.
  • Visa sponsorship available.
