About The Position

This role is part of Splunk’s Control Plane organization, which builds a foundational, self-service automated platform for internal engineering teams to deploy cloud services. The team works across multi-cloud environments and addresses distributed systems challenges, including automation of production infrastructure. The posting advertises potential opportunities; the exact role may not currently be open, and applications are accepted until further notice. The Software Engineer will contribute to a large codebase deployed daily across AWS, GCP, Azure, and GovCloud, supporting thousands of enterprise customers. The role focuses on architecting self-service developer tools and abstractions, deploying and monitoring production systems, improving operational telemetry and alerting, participating in supported on-call rotations, and integrating AI-powered tools into engineering workflows. Because the role maintains services in a FedRAMP-compliant environment and may involve work restricted by the U.S. government, candidates must be U.S. citizens; some work must be performed on U.S. soil. The role is advertised as full time. Compensation varies by hiring location and qualifications. Listed salary ranges are $125,700–$203,100 for the New York City metro area and $111,700–$180,800 for non-metro New York state and Washington state.
