About The Position

A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Software Engineer - FPGA. This is a Full-Time Contract position, with a duration of 06-12 months, located in Salt Lake City, UT 84116. The schedule is 9/80. As a Software Engineer - FPGA, you will be responsible for developing advanced electronic warfare (EW) and wireless digital communications systems. The role involves contributing across the full design lifecycle, including proposals, requirements definition, RTL development, simulation, synthesis, place-and-route, verification and test, system integration, and field support. This position offers challenging technical work within a collaborative team of talented engineers and opportunities to work independently while leading small teams of technical contributors.

Requirements

  • Experience in EW, wireless communications, modems, and/or digital signal processing (DSP).
  • Experience in FPGA verification using simulation and unit testing.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience, OR Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience, OR minimum of 13 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or electrical engineering.
  • Experience leading small engineering teams or technical contributors.
  • Experience developing electronic support (ES) and/or electronic attack (EA) signal-processing capabilities.
  • Comparable ASIC design experience.
  • Experience with high-speed serial FPGA interfaces operating at 3 Gbps or greater.
  • Familiarity with C, C++, C#, MATLAB, and/or Simulink.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute across the full design lifecycle, including proposals, requirements definition, RTL development, simulation, synthesis, place-and-route, verification and test, system integration, and field support.
  • Develop advanced electronic warfare (EW) and wireless digital communications systems.
  • Lead small teams of technical contributors.
  • Work independently.
  • Develop in VHDL (preferred) or Verilog.
  • Implement complex modem and/or DSP algorithms in FPGA-based programmable logic.
  • Implement industry-standard interfaces, such as 10/100/1000 Ethernet, SPI, UART, SDRAM, DDR3, JESD, and PCIe.
  • Achieve timing closure in large FPGA designs.
  • Perform high-level synthesis (HLS).
  • Conduct laboratory debug using signal generators, digital oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, bit-error-rate testers (BERTs), and other advanced measurement equipment.
  • Utilize Git source control.
  • Develop in C, C++, C#, MATLAB, and/or Simulink.
