About The Position

Vestige is seeking a senior-level .NET Engineer to help design, build, troubleshoot, and evolve software that integrates applications, data pipelines, distributed systems, and hardware-connected environments. The right candidate will bring strong hands-on engineering ability together with sound judgment, clear communication, ownership, and a practical, solution-oriented mindset. This role is not defined by years of coding experience alone. We are looking for a well-rounded engineer who can use modern engineering practices, including AI-assisted development and agentic workflows, while still demonstrating strong fundamentals, careful technical reasoning, and accountability for production outcomes.

Requirements

Strong professional experience with .NET, .NET Core, and modern C# development.
Experience building and supporting production-grade APIs and distributed services.
Practical experience with Angular and modern JavaScript or TypeScript-based frontend development.
Experience with SQL Server and data persistence, querying, and troubleshooting.
Experience with event-driven or asynchronous systems using Kafka and/or Azure Service Bus.
Experience with Azure Table Storage or comparable NoSQL/cloud storage services.
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized application delivery.
Working knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps practices, including Azure DevOps or comparable tooling.
Strong understanding of API security and general application security principles.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot software and hardware integration issues in production or operational environments.
Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently while keeping the team informed.
Strong problem solver who can separate symptoms from root causes and develop practical solutions.
Proactive in identifying risks, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
Comfortable working across application, data, infrastructure, and integration boundaries.
Communicates with precision and confidence, especially when explaining technical concepts and practical details.
Collaborative and respectful, with a willingness to listen, incorporate new information, and adjust an approach when warranted.

Fifteen or more years of relevant industry experience, or an equivalent record of senior-level impact and technical ownership.
Experience with mobile development.
Experience supporting U.S.-based clients or teams and collaborating across time zones.
Prior work involving operational technology, hardware integrations, telemetry, or other distributed field environments.
Experience leading technical initiatives, mentoring engineers, or coordinating work across teams.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain services and applications using the .NET ecosystem.
Work across the stack, including backend services, Angular-based user interfaces, data processing pipelines, APIs, and distributed systems.
Troubleshoot complex software, infrastructure, and hardware-integration issues by investigating deeply, identifying root causes, and driving issues through resolution.
Build and support reliable integrations using Kafka, Azure Service Bus, SQL Server, Azure Table Storage, and related data technologies.
Deploy, operate, and improve containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes, including cloud-native environments where appropriate.
Apply secure engineering practices across application design, APIs, data handling, deployment, and production support.
Participate actively in design discussions, code reviews, stand-ups, incident follow-up, and other team working sessions.
Explain technical decisions, constraints, tradeoffs, and risks clearly to both technical and cross-functional audiences.
Take ownership of ambiguous problems and move initiatives forward without waiting for every task to be explicitly assigned.
Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve speed and quality while validating outputs and maintaining engineering standards.
