About The Position

Kunai builds full-stack technology solutions for banks, credit and payment networks, infrastructure providers, and their customers. We are hiring Data/Software Engineers to join a team driving software and data engineering for a critical initiative for a premier banking client. This is an exciting opportunity to work hands-on with cloud-native technologies and modern architecture. We are looking for Back-end Engineers with a Data focus, as this team will be building production software and data systems beyond traditional ETL pipelines. Strong programming skills in Python are expected.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in application development with strong Python programming skills.
4+ years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
4+ years working with relational databases, including PostgreSQL, and writing complex SQL queries.
Experience with data migration activities in cloud environments, focusing on enterprise-scale data movement and transformation.
Experience working with cloud data platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake to analyze large datasets.
Familiarity with distributed data processing and batch/stream processing tools such as Apache Spark, Kafka, or AWS Kinesis.
Experience with workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or similar.
Familiarity with enterprise ETL pipelines, Data Quality controls, and compliance Governance.
Practical experience architecting real-time, event-driven data streams using Kafka/OneStream.
Familiarity with large-scale cloud data warehousing, performance optimization, and modeling within Snowflake and OneLake

Nice To Haves

Java development experience.
Experience with AWS Glue or other AWS data integration services.
Proficiency with UNIX/Linux environments, including basic shell scripting.
Experience working in Agile teams and knowledge of Agile engineering practices.
Prior consulting experience or aptitude for client-facing collaborative environments.
