About The Position

Forum Asset Management is seeking a Software Engineer - Data to design, build, and evolve the company's next-generation enterprise data platform using the Microsoft Fabric technology stack. This role is a blend of data engineering and software development, focusing on building software that heavily relies on data. The engineer will manage the full data lifecycle, from ingestion and cleaning of complex datasets to developing full-stack applications that surface insights. The position involves creating scalable, production-grade systems to transform raw data into business intelligence, supporting Forum’s investment, real estate, and operational strategies. This is a greenfield opportunity to influence both the platform architecture and the data-driven tools built upon it. The role is hands-on, in-office, and highly visible, requiring collaboration with investment professionals, business leaders, analysts, and software developers to design enterprise-grade systems and AI-powered workflows that deliver measurable business value. The work will establish the foundation for the company's long-term data strategy and future decision-making processes.

  • Proficient in Python for data engineering, automation, API integration, and full-stack development workflows.
  • Strong grasp of data lifecycle management — from ingestion and cleaning of raw, unstructured datasets to modeling, transformation, and visualization for decision-making.
  • Experience working with big data environments and optimizing pipelines for scale, performance, and reliability.
  • Hands-on experience with web scraping and external data acquisition, transforming diverse public and private data sources into structured, usable datasets.
  • Applied understanding of AI concepts and practical experience leveraging LLMs (e.g., Azure OpenAI, generative AI models, or document intelligence services) to automate data analysis, classification, or prediction tasks.
  • Proven ability to evaluate, prototype, and deploy emerging AI/ML solutions that create measurable business value.
  • Exceptional data presentation and storytelling skills, capable of conveying complex technical insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable operating in ambiguity and turning loosely defined problems into working, scalable solutions.
