Software Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure and Observability

About The Position

Nuro is seeking a Software Engineer specializing in Cloud Infrastructure and Observability to join their expanding Infrastructure team. This role involves collaborating with various teams to understand customer needs and developing scalable solutions for infrastructure-as-code and Kubernetes deployments. The engineer will also focus on building automation to enhance developer experience, infrastructure reliability, and security, as well as creating observability solutions for monitoring production systems, tracking health, and improving performance.

Requirements

Start-up DNA: Demonstrated ability to thrive in the ambiguity of a dynamic, start-up environment or the DNA to do so.
Excellent communication skills.
Software development skills, preferably in Python or Go.
Experience with developing in a public cloud environment.
Experience with Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Experience with observability tools.
Experience with building, scaling, and maintaining production systems.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field, or 3+ years of equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

Cloud/hybrid networking experience.
Software architecture experience.
Experience in deploying and managing large distributed applications (e.g. with Kubernetes and ArgoCD).
Experience designing and building observability systems.

Responsibilities

Collaborate and work cross-functionally amongst teams at Nuro to align on customer needs.
Build high-quality and scalable solutions for infrastructure-as-code, application deployment to Kubernetes clusters.
Build automation to improve developer experience, infrastructure reliability, and security.
Create observability solutions to monitor production systems, track health status, and improve system performance.
