As a Software Engineer on the Freestyle team, you will be a proficient individual contributor responsible for designing and implementing features within Freestyle Orchestrator—Workspace ONE UEM's low-code, cross-platform automation and workflow engine. This platform enables IT administrators to automate complex device management tasks, orchestrate application and profile deployments, and enforce compliance across diverse device fleets (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, Linux, and VDI/Horizon environments). You will work with increasing independence, demonstrating initiative and creativity in solving technical problems while collaborating with senior engineers, product managers, and architects to deliver impactful solutions that advance Workspace ONE's "Autonomous Workspace" vision.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of software engineering experience.
  • Good coding skills with a track record of contributing secure, performant, and quality code.
  • Specialized technical expertise in at least one area, with growing breadth across IT subjects.
  • Ability to work independently with some latitude, performing analysis and implementing solutions with minimum supervision.
  • Understanding of modern engineering practices: CI/CD, automated testing, cloud-native architectures, secure SDLC.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills; proactively facilitates teamwork.
  • Demonstrates initiative, creativity, and a proactive approach to identifying and fixing problems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with workflow engines, orchestration platforms, or device management solutions.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Maven, Artifactory, and cloud deployment pipelines.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for technical challenges.
  • Experience with Workspace ONE UEM or similar enterprise mobility platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate initiative and creativity in adding value to technical projects with minimum supervision.
  • Implement solutions independently, performing analysis and executing on well-scoped features and components within Freestyle Orchestrator.
  • Take initiative to identify areas of product improvement (code, test strategy, performance, and automation).
  • Analyze the impact and resources of own ideas and solutions before implementation.
  • Write good, secure, performant, and quality code on a regular basis, improving code quality and coverage in your area.
  • Build specialized technical expertise in orchestration, workflow execution, and cross-platform integration.
  • Develop reasonable experience with and knowledge of broad IT subjects, including solutions development and/or system integration.
  • Understand product and feature capabilities to build solutions on.
  • Develop skills to handle changing situations, new ideas, and ambiguity.
  • Proactively facilitate teamwork to accomplish common goals.
  • May work with other teams to resolve dependencies and deliver solutions.

  • Lead and participate in on-call/incident responses for your area.
  • Contribute improvements to runbooks, automation, alerting, and monitoring in your area.
  • Proactively perform minor updates to stay ahead of security and deprecation issues; may perform some major updates reactively or proactively.
  • Contribute improvements to SDLC processes and CI/CD tooling in your area.
  • Maintain a special focus on security (design, implementation, and software security currency for the product).
  • Perform analysis and execute/implement solutions independently.
  • Be proactive about identifying and fixing problems.
  • Encourage innovation, creative thought, and new ideas/solutions.
  • May produce quality written technical literature (blogs or other avenues).
  • May participate in Hackathon, Radio, or other innovation events.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of business processes and policies to solve problems and get things done.
  • May suggest improvements to business processes and policies.
  • May have led a few customers to successful adoption of the product.
