About The Position

As a Software Engineer – Applications, you will build the engineering bridge between core multimodal research and real-world production deployments. This engineering-first, high-impact role involves designing and implementing reference architectures, production-grade integration frameworks, developer SDKs, evaluation harnesses, and end-to-end applications powered by Glimpse. You will work at the intersection of product engineering, model evaluation, and customer architecture. Working directly with founders, early enterprise partners, and the internal research team, you will turn complex multimodal requirements into robust, high-performance systems and bring real-world constraints into model roadmaps.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building and shipping high-performance production software in Python.
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable code and explain architectural decisions in depth.
  • Experience building complex LLM or multimodal systems beyond basic API calls, such as agentic workflows, structured tool-use frameworks, model evaluation pipelines, or orchestration layers for vision-language models.
  • Hands-on experience evaluating, fine-tuning, or benchmarking ML models, including the ability to distinguish model failure modes from pipeline errors and data-quality issues.
  • Experience taking ownership through the full software lifecycle and a bias toward shipping quickly.
  • Familiarity with modern cloud architecture, API design, vector or multimodal indexing, streaming protocols, and high-volume image or video data pipelines under latency and cost constraints.
  • Ability to communicate complex architectural tradeoffs clearly to internal research teams and external engineering leaders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with TypeScript, Go, or Rust.
  • Experience as a founding engineer, startup core contributor, or forward-deployed engineer.
  • Prior experience at a foundation model provider, AI developer platform, or ML infrastructure company.
  • Direct experience building multimodal applications in vision-heavy fields such as robotics, industrial automation, manufacturing, geospatial, medical imaging, or media production.
  • Experience developing public developer APIs, open-source AI tooling, or developer ecosystems.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deploy low-latency, scalable application architectures that integrate Glimpse into complex enterprise data pipelines and high-throughput workflows.
  • Create open-source reference implementations, production-ready demo applications, developer tooling, and SDK components.
  • Design and implement evaluation pipelines and benchmarking harnesses to test Glimpse against other frontier multimodal models on diverse, real-world visual datasets.
  • Isolate and resolve bottlenecks across application pipelines, data ingestion layers, model inference APIs, and prompt or orchestration logic.
  • Serve as the core technical architect for engineering teams at design-partner companies, guiding technical discovery, proof-of-concept development, and production deployment.
  • Translate real-world application failure modes, edge cases, and performance requirements into prioritized specifications for research and model infrastructure teams.

Benefits

  • Significant equity.
  • Comprehensive health insurance and perks.
