About The Position

Okuma America Corporation is hiring a Software Engineer for Manufacturing Applications to develop software connecting commercial CAM platforms with Okuma OSP control technology. The role transforms tooling, fixture, and geometry data into machine-ready information and works across software engineering, manufacturing technology, and CNC automation, collaborating with internal teams, technology partners, and customers. The engineer designs, develops, tests, deploys, and maintains applications and CAM plug-ins; translates STEP, ISO 13399, GTC, and CAM-native tooling data into formats for Okuma OSP controls; and processes 3D geometry for simulation, visualization, and collision avoidance. The position develops C#/.NET desktop applications, builds maintainable software architectures and automated testing tools, and supports source control, CI/CD, documentation, code reviews, troubleshooting, implementation, and ongoing product enhancements. The role is based at the corporate headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina. Approximately three quarters of the work is in an office environment; the remainder takes place at customer sites or in the Okuma warehouse/showroom. Domestic and international travel of up to 25% may be required. The position requires maintaining applicable annual OSHA safety certifications, an insurable driving record, and residence within a reasonable commuting distance of the corporate office.
