About The Position

As a founding engineer at Headstarter, you will be a full-stack generalist, working across the entire stack including frontend, backend, AI infrastructure, classic ML, and devops. You will have the opportunity to work in short-lived teams focused on specific projects due to the compound nature of the product. Headstarter is building an ecosystem to improve CS education globally, offering services such as cataloging top CS projects, upskilling in new technologies, job/internship guarantees, interview preparation, industry mentors, team projects, networking, resume experience, support, structure, and accountability. The company is currently developing an "accelerator" program and an AI recruiter that assists over 30 startups in hiring for more than 100 engineering roles. The mission is to provide future tech leaders with direction, standardization, consistency, and transparency. Headstarter is a lean, aggressive team of founders who have secured substantial funding from prominent investors.

Requirements

Full-stack generalist experience
Experience across frontend, backend, AI infrastructure, classic ML, and devops
Ability to work in short-lived teams on specific projects
TypeScript / JS
Python (optional)
React (optional)

Competing offers at other startups or 1-3 years experience working at startups full-time
Shipping a product to production gaining quick traction i.e $1000 dollars or 1000 users in 7 days
Understanding of UI/UX and obsessing over details in front-end and human empathy
Interest in re-defining cs curriculum and pedagogy with "super network" for gen-z

Responsibilities

Outlining the 0-to-1 of project requirements, goals, and roadmaps from customer problems
Wrangling a wide variety of cutting-edge agentic AI infrastructure
Leading end-to-end implementation to deliver fast, high-quality iterations to customers
