About The Position

Our core product team is building the technology that helps patients understand, afford, and manage their healthcare costs. You'll drive innovation by experimenting with and launching AI and ML powered features; from integrating LLMs into engineering workflows to enhancing an AI chat agent that delivers personalized billing guidance with empathy and compassion. You'll also lead the design, development, and deployment of full-stack experiences that give patients greater flexibility, confidence, and control over their financial journey, including integrations with leading financial partners to bring new payment solutions to life. You'll work across the full stack to build and evolve a class-leading patient financial product used by millions of patients annually, collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and partner engineering teams to turn ambitious ideas into clear technical plans and robust, production-ready software. Beyond the technical work, you'll help shape team direction, coordinate complex development efforts, and mentor peers as we work together to make healthcare simpler, fairer, and more accessible for everyone.

Requirements

• Demonstrated proficiency in independent, hands-on coding and problem-solving, including handling complex edge cases, optimizing for efficiency, and delivering robust solutions within time constraints.
• Genuine full-stack experience (React/TypeScript and Python/Django or comparable), current project mix leans backend-heavy, so recent hands-on frontend work is still expected.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex technical ideas clearly, concisely, and with compelling examples, as well as asking insightful clarifying questions.
• A strong commitment to engineering best practices, including writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, and a proactive approach to managing technical debt.
• Thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and love solving complex problems.
• Understand what matters to our end users, patients, and actively shape solutions to help drive the best outcomes for them.
