About The Position

The Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements. Works individually or as part of a team. Due to federal contract requirements, United States Citizenship and position appropriate security clearance is required. (e.g. Active TS/SCI security clearance with agency appropriate polygraph).

Requirements

• TS/SCI with agency appropriate poly
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university and a minimum of eight (8) years of experience as a Software Engineer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Master’s degree in a related field and a minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience.
• PhD in a related field and a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience.
• Four (4) additional years of Software Engineering experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
• Possession of a cloud certification is required and will be verified as part of the interview or offer process.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with AWS cloud environments, including serverless architecture and cloud application deployment.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), specifically Terraform.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results.
• Resolves software problem reports.
• Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
• Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.
• Recommend new technologies and processes for complex software projects.
• Serves as the technical lead of multiple software development teams.
• Selects the software development process in coordination with the customer and system engineering.
• Ensures quality control of all developed and modified software.
• Delegates programming and testing responsibilities to one or more teams and monitors performance.
