About The Position

The Software Engineer 2 joins Dell Technologies’ Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG), which builds products for infrastructure, solutions, and data management. The role is based in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, and Round Rock, Texas, and focuses on designing, developing, and integrating embedded firmware for enterprise server system management subsystems. The goal is to deliver scalable, high-performance, and secure solutions. The engineer embeds security throughout the firmware lifecycle, translating security, risk, and compliance requirements into architecture, designs, implementation plans, and validation strategies. The role also leads firmware integration across hardware generations, supports Agile execution, and performs advanced system-level debugging and root cause analysis to resolve customer, manufacturing, and pre-production issues. The engineer establishes and promotes best practices in secure firmware development, automated validation, and continuous improvement. ISG describes an engineering environment that uses AI throughout the development process, encourages experimentation and bold thinking, and emphasizes customer-focused, rapid product development. Engineers define product intent and specifications, and use AI agents to help execute development work.
