About The Position

Come and join the winning team at Intel. The Datacenter business group focuses on developing leadership data center products as well as helping drive the company's overall artificial intelligence (AI) strategy. This group leads the effort to maintain optimized user applications on the Aurora supercomputer located at Argonne National Laboratory. Aurora represents an Exascale Class computer aimed at driving unprecedented innovation and scientific breakthroughs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Providing hands-on assistance debugging and optimizing scientific applications on Intel CPUs and GPUs. Maintaining sufficient knowledge of ML to help develop AI assisted scientific workflows. Possessing working knowledge of OpenMP, MPI, and architectural details of Intel CPUs and GPUs. The successful candidate will have: A good understanding of open-source community software and related ecosystems. Ability to evaluate ecosystem technology designs and readiness is also required. Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey architectural intent and technical requirements across diverse teams. This role periodically calls for: Making high-level design choices for software structure, frameworks, protocols, and algorithms. Determining coding practices, development tools, and validation requirements is therefore part and parcel of this unique opportunity. Experience interacting with senior technologists across Intel and within the industry, and with developers and project managers to evaluate feasibility of requirements, is a key part of the skill set required. Travel may be required but less than 5 percent.
