About The Position

The Air and Missile Defense (AMD) TIS (Track Identification Services) SW (Software) Development Team Product Owner (PO) will work as a member of the Army Program Executive Office Missiles and Space (PEO MS) Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office (PO). The PO will be responsible for prioritizing and validating the development software for the TIS team. The TIS team is responsible for identifying and classifying tracks in the C2 (Command and Control) software. The position will include reviewing and understanding Systems Engineering concepts, designs, and algorithms and providing guidance to the development team. The product owner will work with Program management to set priorities for the team's capabilities and defects for each product increment and sprint. The position will include technical briefings and advisement to leadership on the status and recommended courses of action, competing capabilities, performance, risks, and impacts on the IFMC mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in engineering, the sciences, or mathematics
  • A minimum of 10 years combined Government/DoD experience in performing the essential duties listed above
  • Understanding of CID (Classification, Identification, and Discrimination) used in C2 systems, including IFF, ADS-B, Air Tasking Orders, and NCTR.
  • U.S. Citizenship and an active Secret Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge in IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS, THAAD, C2BMC, or AEGIS.
  • Familiarity with current CID measures in one or more of the DoD services
  • Prior Product Owner experience on a SCRUM team is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritizing and validating the development software for the TIS team.
  • Identifying and classifying tracks in the C2 (Command and Control) software.
  • Reviewing and understanding Systems Engineering concepts, designs, and algorithms and providing guidance to the development team.
  • Working with Program management to set priorities for the team's capabilities and defects for each product increment and sprint.
  • Providing technical briefings and advisement to leadership on the status and recommended courses of action, competing capabilities, performance, risks, and impacts on the IFMC mission.
  • Providing oversight to the development team and verifying the team's work against agreed-upon acceptance criteria, including attending code reviews.
  • Working directly with the Agile software developers.
