About The Position

The Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Engagement Operations Team Product Owner (PO) will work as a member of the Army Program Executive Office Missiles and Space (PEO MS) Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office (PO). The PO will be responsible for prioritizing and validating the development software for the Engagement Operations team. The position will include reviewing and understanding Systems Engineering concepts, designs, and algorithms and providing guidance to the development team. The product owner will work with Program management to set priorities for the team's capabilities and defects for each product increment and sprint. The position will include technical briefings and advisement to leadership on status and recommended courses of action, competing capabilities, performance, risks, and impacts to the IFMC mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in engineering, the sciences, or mathematics
  • A minimum of 10 years combined Government/DoD experience in performing the essential duties listed above
  • Understanding of Engagement Operations (EO) concepts, including engagement planning/scheduling, threat evaluation, target selection, battlespace prediction, and sensor resource management.
  • Fluent in the Microsoft Office toolset
  • U.S. Citizenship and an active Secret Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge in IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS, THAAD, C2BMC, or AEGIS.
  • Familiarity with current EO measures in one or more of the DoD services
  • Prior Product Owner experience on a SCRUM team is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritizing and validating the development software for the Engagement Operations team.
  • Reviewing and understanding Systems Engineering concepts, designs, and algorithms and providing guidance to the development team.
  • Working with Program management to set priorities for the team's capabilities and defects for each product increment and sprint.
  • Providing technical briefings and advisement to leadership on status and recommended courses of action, competing capabilities, performance, risks, and impacts to the IFMC mission.
  • Providing oversight to EO Software development team and verify the team's work based on agreed-upon acceptance criteria.
  • Working directly with the Agile software developers.
