About The Position

The Software Development Summer Intern within our Technology & Operations business unit will be implanting functional and technical specifications provided by business analysts and development managers. Interns will learn both the functional and technical aspects of an application in addition to the languages and frameworks used for construction. You will have hands-on learning, supported by team members, project managers, and formal technology training. Our Software Developers use a wide range of programming languages, so, Interns will have the opportunity to learn and apply a broad range of technical skills throughout the summer. Intern projects may include: Working on enhancements to our investment management systems which are used for investment decision making and execution Working on enhancements to our sales, marketing and distribution systems Automating operational processes to reduce risk and maximize efficiency Summer Interns contribute to and learn from AB’s innovative use of technology, deep research capabilities, global presence, and breadth of investment management expertise. The flat corporate structure allows Interns to become deeply integrated into the team and contribute meaningfully to investment decision-making early on in their careers.

Requirements

  • December 2026 through May/June 2027 Bachelor’s degree candidates in computer science, engineering, math, finance, economics, business, or liberal arts
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.3 or better
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (must be able to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship now or in the future)
  • Candidates must be available to work full-time from June through August
  • Selected candidates will need to successfully complete a thorough background check
  • It is not permissible to simultaneously take academic classes or hold other employment that will conflict with the internship schedule
  • Keen interest in project management, particularly with the scoping of projects, capturing and documenting requirements, and defining use cases, user interfaces, and testing scenarios
  • Interest in working with a variety of technologies, including sophisticated web services, Java applications and C++ servers
  • Strong computer programming skills
  • Interest in leveraging AI and emerging technologies to enhance software development, automate workflows, and solve complex business challenges
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
