About The Position

As a Senior Software Development Project Manager at GDIT, you will oversee complex programs that drive impactful mission outcomes for customers. This role offers a broad perspective on mission initiatives and significant career growth opportunities within GDIT. The work is crucial to the mission of GDIT's New York State (NYS) customer, where you will partner with New York State of Health (NYSoH) to provide comprehensive health coverage to over 7.0 million New Yorkers through its Health Benefit Exchange (HBE).

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in related field, OR equivalent combination of education and experience
Ten (10) years or more of IT experience
Minimum of 7+ years of overall experience in leading software implementation projects, which included development and delivery to customers
At least five (5) years of experience project management frameworks and best practices and the systems and software development life cycle, including scope, schedule, and risk identification and management
MS Project proficiency
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

Responsibilities

Develop, manage, and execute software development project plans
Drive cross-functional team deliverables and schedules
See projects through to completion and ensure that deadlines and requirements are met
Manage scope, review project status, and understand how to assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives
Identify and manage risks
Provide definitive direction to drive efficiency in project execution and accuracy ensuring on-time delivery, and within budget
Manage communication of progress to internal and external stakeholders and escalate issues as necessary
Actively monitor project progress with an emphasis on problem solving
Use project management tools and processes to keep the budget and timeline on track
