About The Position

We're looking for a Software Development Manager to own and deliver exceptional Fire TV experiences for Prime Video. In this role, you'll lead a team of engineers building and improving the Prime Video Fire TV application used by millions of customers worldwide. You'll drive technical execution, raise the quality bar, and leverage AI-driven approaches to accelerate development and testing of the Fire TV experience.

You'll work closely with cross-functional partners including product, design, and platform teams to deliver features that delight customers. Your strong technical judgment, combined with a passion for developing engineers and delivering results, will directly impact how customers discover and enjoy content on the web.

Requirements

• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
• Experience in engineering
• Experience in leading the definition and development of multi tier web services
• Experience working directly within engineering teams
• Experience managing engineers
• Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Nice To Haves

• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
• Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

Responsibilities

• Own the delivery and quality of the Prime Video Fire TV Client experiences, driving technical execution that balances customer needs with business objectives.
• Lead and develop a team of software engineers, setting clear expectations, removing blockers, and raising the engineering bar through coaching and hands-on technical guidance.
• Apply AI-driven approaches to development and testing workflows, improving quality and velocity of the Fire TV experience across browsers and devices.
• Establish and maintain mechanisms to monitor customer experience, software quality, and operational health, using data and anecdotes to identify and address issues proactively.
• Partner with cross-functional teams across product, design, and platform engineering to plan and deliver on the Fire TV Client roadmap.
